Looking for something fun to do in Bangalore? A nice day out with the family or unwinding with friends? Or a mini-adventure in the city? The city has a lot to offer — from gorgeous gardens to unique eateries — there’s something for everyone! We’ve put together a list of ten fun activities to do in Bangalore: 

  1. Take a Trip to Bannerghatta National ParkAmidst the fast-paced life of Bangalore, spend some time amidst nature and wildlife. Here, you can take a wildlife safari, or explore the beautiful butterfly park, or visit the Zoo, or all of the above! It’s a perfect way to spend a day with family (especially if you have kids) or friends.   2. Explore Bangalore’s Iconic Gardens – Bangalore is well known as the ‘Garden City’. Once upon a time, there was greenery everywhere you looked. But, all that isn’t lost yet. Bang in the middle of the city is two huge gardens/parks — Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park. Between the two of these humongous parks, you can have a picnic, play games, visit an aquarium and so much more.Cubbon Park Bangalore
  3. See the Stars at the Planetarium This is learning and fun at its best. The best part is that it’s good fun for people of all ages! Who wouldn’t love to take a trip through the stars? Spend some time at the Science Park before catching a show at the Sky Theatre. The Jawahar Lal Nehru Planetarium is closed on Sundays as of now, and you can check the holiday list here. Tickets to the Sky Theatre at priced at Rs.75/- for adults and Rs. 50/- for children below the age of 16.
  4. Have a Fun-Filled Day at Play ArenaBowling, Escape Rooms, Go Karting, Archery, Virtual Reality Games, Air Hockey — these are just a few of the activities you can engage in at Play Arena! They also have a skate park, trampoline park, as well as dedicated fields for soccer, cricket, rugby and more.   5. Slide, Splash and Scream at Wonder La Amusement Park — Located off Mysore Road, this one can be a little tough to reach. However, there’s public transport easily available to reach there. Trust us when we say it’s worth the journey. This is a day trip that you can also convert into an overnight getaway since they have a resort too. Wonder La boasts of over 50 land and water rides including laser shows, roller coasters, and a variety of water slides. Check this link for the current pricing, and any offers! We’d recommend keeping this one for when the COVID situation gets a little better, though. Otherwise, please take proper precautions.
  6. Shop Till You Drop! — Bangalore has so much to offer when it comes to shopping. Plenty of options for street shopping, as well as mid and high-end shopping. There’s not much that you can’t find in Bangalore.Head to Commercial Street, MG Road, Brigade Road, Avenue Road, Jayanagar or Majestic if you’re looking to get some street shopping done.

  7. Take a Vineyard Tour — A unique way to spend your day. Did you know that there are a few gorgeous vineyards in and around Namma Bengaluru? Take a trip down to Grover Zampa Vineyards, Domaine Sula, or Big Banyan Vineyard & Resort. Taste some wine, learn more about winemakingTuesday engage in some grape stomping and take a stroll through a vineyard. It’s a great experience for both small and large groups, for both family and friends.   8. Visit Bangalore’s Very Own Nandi Hills — You can’t live in or visit Bangalore without going to Nandi Hills. Many hit the road early so they can catch the sunrise here. Make sure to check the weather before heading out. Located about 60km from the heart of Bangalore, it’s another long journey, but again, worth it. Take a trek up to the different viewpoints or if you’re a cyclist, then take a ride up! Plus, the entry is just Rs 10. All the more reason to go! There are also KSRTC buses that take you from Majestic Bus Stand to Nandi Hills. Do we need to say more? 
  9. Eat, Drink & Unwind! — Bangalore has an abundance of restaurants, cafes, bars and street food options. You can find great food everywhere you look. If you’re looking for street food, you need to hit VV Puram Food Street. Other than that, areas like Commercial Street, Jayanagar, Malleshwaram also have great options. Anywhere you go in Bangalore, just take a walk around and you’ll find some delicious food.As for iconic eateries in Bangalore, you have Taj Hotel in Shivajinagar, Vidyarthi Bhavan in Basavanagudi, MTR on Lalbagh Road, CTR in Malleshwaram, Brahmin’s Coffee Bar in Shankarapura. These are more of your budget-friendly options. There are other classic Bangalore hangouts on the more expensive side. These include The Only Place, Koshy’s, Lake View Milk Bar, and Tandoor. You also have to check out Bangalore’s favourite ice cream parlours, Corner House. Bangalore has too many wonderful eateries to mention, these are just a few we could name for you.
  10. Spend Some Time at Ulsoor Lake — Ulsoor Lake is just a few kilometres away from MG Road. Somehow, right near the centre of the city, you can get a quick escape. There’s a park near the lake where you can sit, relax, draw, read a book, take photos, or take a walk or jog. They also have boating here at very reasonable prices.
