Is your daily commute a hassle? Are you tired of getting incorrect bus or metro information online? Do you wish you had one app to find all public transport information? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions — we’ve got a solution for you! All you have to do is download the Tummoc App!
Tummoc is the first in India to give users a single platform for all their public transport information needs. We deliver accurate information on different modes of public transportation in your city.
And that’s not all — With our ‘Plan My Trip’ feature, you can plan your entire commute before leaving the house! At the tap of a button, you’ll have various routes for your commute all planned out for you. You can choose the one that suits you the best. These routes use a combination of different modes of public transportation. This is also called “Hybrid Multi-Modal Public Transportation”. The cherry on top is that Tummoc is completely free! You don’t even need to sign up to get basic public transportation information!
So, how can you use ‘Plan My Trip’ ?
Once the app is open, tap on the ‘Plan My Trip’ button.
Next, put in your Source and Destination. You can either set your location on the map (make sure your GPS is enabled), or you can type in the location. We’ve also tied up with what3words to provide you with the most accurate location mapping. Once you’ve done this, just tap on the “Plan My Trip” button.
Let’s say you’re from Bangalore and you’re travelling from St Joseph’s College, Langford Road to Baiyappanahalli Metro Station.
On your screen you’ll see different routes mapped out for you. By default, the fastest route will show at the top. However, if you’re not in a hurry, tap on the Filter button as shown below to sort it by Time, Price or Number of Transits.
When you look at all your commute routes, you’ll see a summary of each route. This route summary will include:
1. The Mode-o-Meter— The Mode-o-Meter shows you a breakdown of which modes you’ll be using at different stages of your commute. Different colours are used to represent each mode of transport. For e.g yellow represents travel by bus. Below each section of this bar, you’ll also see icons that represent that mode of transport.
2. Next Scheduled — Here, you’ll see the timing of the next scheduled bus or metro on your route.
3. Estimated price — This shows you an estimate of how much this route will cost you from the first mile to the last (from your origin to your destination).
4. Travel time — Here you will see the approximate duration of your commute if you use this specific route.
5. Distance — This shows you the total distance you will cover if you use this route.
If you tap on any of these routes, you’ll be able to see a detailed view of that route. To access this, you’ll need to log-in to the app. In the detailed view, you can see your route on the map, marked out in different colours to represent various modes of transport. Each step of your commute is laid out in front of you with all the details you need. This includes the bus/metro stand, number, next two scheduled timings, and all the stops made on your route.
If you look at the image below, there’s a navigation button next to “St Joseph’s College…”. You can tap on this button to navigate to your nearest public transport station.
Once you pick a route, all you have to do is head out and experience the convenience that Tummoc offers you!
